At lunchtime children in Reception and Year 1 are served at their tables whilst Year 2 children are able to serve themselves. There is a choice of menu for all the children including a salad bar, fruit or a pudding and a drink of water. Each table has a member of staff eating at the table and all children are encouraged to use their knife and fork properly and have good table manners for which they are recognized with a sticker in a special assembly on Fridays.
In the afternoon break there is a snack of a biscuit and a drink of water or milk.
All breaks take place on the Lower School playground however as much as is possible the longer lunch break takes place on the school field where the children also have access to the log playground which is very popular with all the children!
Assembly takes place on most days of the week. On Fridays there is a special assembly where effort, good behaviour, manners and birthdays are celebrated and recognized. Stickers, certificates and small birthday treats are awarded.
Homework is kept to a minimum as the days are busy and the children are tired and need to relax at home. From the spring term in Reception children begin to take home a reading book and they learn a short list of spellings.
