The two parallel classes are split according to age with Autumn and Winter birthdays in one class and Spring and Summer birthdays in the other. This arrangement really benefits the young children where the difference between a child born in September and another child born in August can be quite considerable. The pace and content of the lessons can then be more appropriate to the individual children. Both classes, however follow exactly the same curriculum.
At the end of Year Two the classes are reorganized into three classes in which one third of the class is from the new intake, one third is from the younger class and one third is from the older class.
