Twice a year parents receive a written report on the progress that their child is making. These reports are sent out at the end of the autumn term and at the end of the summer term. Parent consultation evenings also take place in the autumn and spring term. In addition to these formal arrangements there is an open door policy whereby parents and teachers exchange information when ever the need arises.
At the beginning of the school year there is a curriculum information evening for parents. When teachers present the outline of the topics that they will cover during the year, the expectations they have of the children and how parents can support both the school and their child's learning.
There is daily contact between staff and parents when children arrive at school and when they are collected at the end of the school day. For children whose parents work or who use the school bus, their parents have access to a message book which remains in their child's school bag for easy exchange of information. Parents are also welcome to email the school and the majority of letters and general information is now emailed to parents.
