An additional class is opened in Year 3.Entry is via an assessment process that is not designed to select by ability but by ensuring that all new pupils are able to access the curriculum and maintain the levels of effort and progress that are expected of them. The sixty pupils are divided equally across three parallel mixed ability classes with an even spread of boys and girls, integrating the twenty new pupils within the existing forty. The school day is longer than that of the Lower School (8.30am until 4pm); swimming lessons begin; Spanish lessons start and all pupils participate in team sports coaching two afternoons each week, which include inter-school fixtures.
