The children are encouraged to express themselves creatively within a framework of teaching and demonstration. They will use thickly spread poster paint on boards so that their work is sturdy and everlasting. These paintings will be displayed in school.
Street Dance provides children with confidenceand gives a great workout. Also, moving at a pace and learning new moves and routines willhelp to improve dancetechniques, style and flow and will enable the children to develop performance skills.
Boys are given the opportunity to develop their fundamental football skills through both game play and skills related activities. They work on aspect of game play which can then be applied in match situations.
The boys will take part in batting, bowling and fielding games designed to be fun and develop their all round skills. Pupils will have the opportunity of using the indoor cricket nets and bowling machine when appropriate.
An introduction to the
contact element of rugby. The children will be taught the basics of how to present the ball in the tackle. They will also learn about simple rucking techniques. This will be done through a combination of fun games and technical drills.
Training for the U13 and U11 IAPS Regional Championships in both hockey and netball takes place after school between 5.00pm and 6.00pm. The training squads are selected in the year prior to the competition to enable elite tactical and technical development in the months leading up to the competition.
