Rugby Tournament Performances

U8s
Our Under 8 A team played the best rugby of their season to date at the Gayhurst Tournament. We started extremely well, beating Thorpe House and St. Pirans 35-10 and 30-15 respectively, setting up a decider with local rivals The Beacon. We took the lead in a tense first half as we defended with great aggression and attacked with great flair. The Beacon hit back early in the second half with 2 quick tries, but with great determination we managed to sneak a last minute try to force a draw.

We qualified for the semi finals for a show down with Davenies. In a high scoring game, Davenies just outscored us 7 tries to 5 to reach the final, which they won beating The Beacon on a golden try.

U10s
The Under 10 A team travelled to UCS in London to play in a tournament which we managed to finish 3^rd in last year. The boys topped their group with wins against St. Johns Northwood, Belmont and a draw against Gayhurst. In the semi finals we played a massive Haberdashers' Aske's team. In a tough and not particularly pretty game we battled to a strong 10-5 win. This put us up against St. Columba's in the final. The boys started the final strongly, going 5-0 up early on. We held the lead until half time and looked likely winners until our Captain had to leave the field injured. Unfortunately, St. Columba's grew in strength as the half progressed and muscled their way to two decisive tries to win the final.

The boys should be extremely proud of their fantastic efforts in reaching the final.
