Entering School at Year 7

In Year 7 (post 11+) there are two forms each of approximately 16 pupils.  Most of these children are existing CPS pupils but many children join the school at this stage for the final two years of Prep school education.  Parents send their children to CPS at this stage for a variety of very good reasons; they might be new to the area and wish their child to attend Prep school until 13 when they will probably sit Common Entrance exams to Public schools; they might wish their child to sit the 12+ entrance selection tests for Bucks Grammar Schools; or they may wish to delay the choice of secondary school until their child reaches 13.  Come what may, all pupils follow the Common Entrance syllabus which provides an excellent preparation for whichever secondary school lies ahead.

Entry to Year 7 is subject to a successful assessment day when pupils will sit tests in English, Maths, Verbal and non-verbal reasoning.
