Whilst CPS is essentially a mixed-ability school, we do feel it appropriate to introduce a degree of setting by ability for certain subjects. Formal setting for Maths begins in Year 4 and setting for English starts in Year 5. In Maths and English there are four sets in each year group based upon an A,B,B,C set system.
