Welcome to Hawaii!
What do you associate Hawaii with, anyway? Pineapples?

Me, I will always associate it with Five-0. What, you might well ask, is Five-0? Now you are showing your age! Hawaii Five-0 was a cult TV programme, broadcast in the late sixties and through the seventies, finally ending in 1980.

Jack Lord played the main character, Steve McGarrett. He was cool, too cool. My favourite character was Danno, McGarrett's second in command, played by James McArthur.

He was so much more likeable, more sympathetic, more human. The series was based around the day to day life of the local Police Department. Well, not day to day, or they would have been the busiest force in the world!
Script and storyline were predictable: Starsky and Hutch airlifted into mid-Pacific.
The best bit (apart from the storyline and the underlying humour) was the scenery; the team had a helicopter which was used in most episodes to provide stunning aerial shots, cliff-skimming rides and wave-clipping thrills.

The programme ran for seven series and was as remembered for its wonderful setting almost as much as for its signature theme tune. Let me reproduce it for you. Bear with me, Ladies, as the boys join in!

Oh, and still by the way, after a few months of worrying about it, nothing has changed except my age!
