Last week, Year 8 and Year 4 went to the River Chess for a Geography field trip. They visited two sites and spent the day measuring the river and comparing how the river changes further downstream. The children also used special equipment to go pond dipping and even caught some sticklebacks, a crayfish, water-boatmen and a bullhead fish and lots more.
Year 8 had a very successful and enjoyable day. They worked in teams to collect primary data to illustrate how the river changes over its course. This data will be analysed as part of their independent study in the coming weeks.
