On Friday 1st March, we submitted three teams made up of Years 6, 7 and 8 in the Rotary Club DT Challenge. The teams were given the task of creating a crane that could move along a track, pick up an object and bring it back to the starting line. The children had the morning to plan their machines as a team and then they were allowed to start creating. They were given a toolkit full of wooden dowels, wheels, hooks, nails and drills and spent the afternoon building. This was a tough challenge with strong competition and all teams did extremely well, however our Year 6 team came a fantastic second place out of 16 others, which was a great achievement. The Senior’s had a brilliant day and thoroughly enjoyed the experience and should be very proud of their efforts on the day!
