On Friday 1st March, we held our annual Candlelit Supper, an opportunity for parents to enjoy a delicious meal prepared by Holroyd Howe while listening to their children perform musical interludes. This year had a distinctly up-beat musical theme, beginning with the Year 5 members of choir singing a selection of pieces that they had prepared for the Young Voices concert in the O2 arena. These songs ranged from Michael Jackson’s ‘We Are The World’ to a Pop Medley of current hits, and was contrasted with some solo instrumentalists between courses. Freddie A, Lauren B, Verity B, Toby C, Poppy D and Oliver R all performed brilliantly and with superb confidence. The evening finished with Senior Choir singing Josh Groban’s ‘You Raise Me Up’ and a comprehensive medley of ABBA songs from ‘Mamma Mia’. A rousing encore of ‘Dancing Queen’ was met with spontaneous dancing from the audience members, which resulted in a very excited and happy group of children! Many thanks go to the talented children that performed and to the members of the PTA for organising this sensational event and of course, to Mr Warner, who does an outstanding job with inspiring the children and their love for music.
