Above and beyond the annual exam timetable, there is additional diagnostic and standardised testing from Year 3. This includes a screening process (for possible Dyslexia) for all pupils, Cognitive Ability Test (CAT) testing, Verbal Reasoning (VR) and Non-Verbal Reasoning (NVR). Whilst the school no longer administers SATs, the optional papers and teacher assessments provide an indication of pupil performance against national norms.
In Year 6 some children sit the Buckinghamshire Grammar School selection tests at 11+ and a significant number sits the 12+ equivalent in Year 7. Children also sit selection tests for many of the local independent schools or sit the Public Schools’ Common Entrance Examination.
