School trips during the academic year reflect and compliment many aspects of the curriculum. Recent examples include a Year 8 Geography Field trip to Wycombe, a Year 5 visit to Sulgrave Manor (a Tudor house), a Year 8 visit to St Paul’s Cathedral (History and RE), and visits to the National Portrait Gallery, Tate Modern, the Globe and Tate Britain.
During the summer term a residential Activity Programme takes place each year. Venues this year are at Grafham Water in Cambridgeshire for year 5 (3 days), Barton Hall in Devon for year 6 (5 days), Boreatton Park in Shropshire for year 7 (5 days) and Calstock Sailing Club in Hampshire for year 8 (5 days).
We find that outdoor education helps promote independence and develop skills in working together and individually.
