Chesham Prep is a thriving school for boys and girls aged 3 to 11. We have a well-deserved reputation, dating back to our foundation in 1938, for being a friendly, family-orientated school at the heart of the local community. Set in the Bucks countryside, next to a working farm, our children aim high, work hard and achieve great things.

We have a teaching staff of over 60 teachers and a support staff of 20. We recruit staff who are dedicated to delivering an outstanding education for all our pupils. We achieve this through small class sizes, our passionate and dedicated staff and, of course, the specialist facilities which children have access to from a young age. We encourage our pupils to be responsible for their own learning and to show resilience when faced with challenges.

We have a strong leadership team and governing body. We pay careful attention to the recruitment and development of staff and a comprehensive Appraisal and Professional Development scheme is in place. We offer a competitive salary structure including access to a comprehensive pension scheme. All staff receive free daily lunches, on-site parking, and fee reduction for staff children.

Our current facilities include specialist areas for teaching Music, Science, Art, and Design Technology, and French and Spanish, plus a Learning Resource Centre and well-stocked library. The Adlington Hall is used for Drama, making use of the lighting and sound equipment. Sixty laptops and twenty iPads are available to use across the school, along with a range of other technologies such as digital cameras, Beebots and Lego WeDo.

Chesham Prep also has 7 acres of fantastic on-site facilities for sport, including a large 800m2 sports hall an all-weather pitch, an astro wicket, grass wicket and bowling machine and 2 large fields for all outdoor sports. Our indoor 4 lane, 25 metre swimming pool opened in September 2019.
