Kate started work as a speech and language therapist in Stockwell, London. She worked in two specialist units within schools, one for children with autism and one for children with language and behaviour difficulties. Three of Kate’s four children went to Chesham Preparatory School. Her eldest child has cerebral palsy so Kate gave up work to care for him.
Kate has an MA in law from Cambridge university and a Diploma in clinical communication studies from City University London. Her interests include reading, gardening, walking and her family.
Kate became a governor at Chesham Preparatory School in 2015. She has a particular interest in the special educational needs provision within the school and she sits on the Educational and Pastoral Committee of the Governors.
